Time-shifting metrics and realities

The fine folks at OMD NZ have a recent blog posting on how TV viewership metrics are changing a little in order to accommodate time-shifted views. The trouble is, it just isn’t that simple and frankly TV stations and Nielsen have happily used poor metrics that just aren’t as accurate as they both should and could be. If where you spend your money on advertising is important to you, this is worth reading.

If you’re not crazy about the new ticker on Facebook, it’s not going to get any better. Sponsored stories (paid ads that show up in your newsfeed) will now be appearing in your ticker.
